Motivations of low-income substance using heterosexual Black women in New York City for having multiple sexual partners are explored in this paper. Individual-level motivations for extra relational sex fell into four dominant themes: sexual pleasure, partner infidelity, sex exchange and past main partners. Using a Black feminist framework, we describe how participants displayed considerable autonomy by actively forming and withdrawing from sexual relationships with men. However, women described low rates of condom use with main partners and inconsistent use of condoms with more casual sexual partners. This contradiction becomes an important area for sexual health interventions. Women who had sexual relations with only one current mate in the past two years were recruited as a monogamous comparison group. This qualitative paper will describe how a sample of low-income substance using Black women in New York City demonstrated contradictory empowerment in their sexual relationships with men: they were active in choosing varying types of male partners but had irregular patterns of condom use.

Introduction
A year-old and I had no one to speak to. Makeda is one of eight Black women who took part in a small-scale qualitative study I undertook as part of my ongoing PhD research exploring why little is still known about the experiences of child sexual abuse CSA among Black British girls. One of the main themes the women talked about was how perceptions of Black women and girls impact on the identification and disclosure of abuse. We know that abuse of children of all ethnicities and backgrounds may remain hidden. Children can be silenced into not telling and adults may not recognise disclosures, leaving children at ongoing risk and not supported. However, children from Black, Asian and minority ethnic B. E groups and other groups, in particular disabled children are less likely to come to the attention of authorities, face additional barriers to accessing statutory services and receive a poorer quality of support. Consequently, there is still a significant gap in our understanding of how children from specific communities in this country disclose CSA, both within cultural community networks and to external support provision. From my own experience and working, talking and researching with other practitioners, it seems that you can almost predict what services or support young people different ethnic groups will be referred to — and in the case of Black girls, it was CSE or gang-related services.

Unfortunately, I can't answer the questions about marrying him etc. The church really needs to tailor to more partial LDS families, imho. Since internship started, I always feel disappointed with my fiance'. Reading has become difficult, because I have trouble focusing. Now we go out to eat or to watch a play or do something together about once every week or two, which is a nice change compared to once a year. Please realize I know how the church works, was extremely active and raised good kids. Thanks again for the help. Her church is more important to her than you are ever will beplain and simple.
Are they a functioning member in society. I could go on, but this should give you the idea. We don't have many nights out and he does sleep when he can but he has a surgeon's ego and so being great in bed is a priority for him.
